Terms of service
Effective 2 August 2026
These terms cover the Bharpai app and settle pages. Using either means you agree to them.
What Bharpai is
Bharpai is a record-keeping and convenience tool for splitting group expenses. It creates payment links and QR codes that open standard UPI apps with prefilled details, and it tracks who has marked their share as paid.
What Bharpai is not
Bharpai is not a bank, wallet, payment aggregator, or payment gateway. All payments happen directly between UPI users through their own UPI apps and banks. We are not a party to any transaction, we do not hold funds, and we cannot reverse, refund, or guarantee any payment.
Your responsibilities
- Enter your own, correct UPI ID. Money sent to an ID you typed incorrectly is between you and your bank.
- Verify the payee name your UPI app displays before paying anyone.
- Use Bharpai only for genuine shared expenses among people you know. No commercial collection, lending, or anything unlawful.
- Amounts shown in Bharpai are records made by the split creator, not verified debts. Disagreements about who owes what are yours to settle.
Paid features
Bharpai Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks additional features on the device it was bought for. It is not a subscription. Store-level refund policies of the app store you bought it through apply.
Acceptable use
Do not use Bharpai to impersonate others, spam people with links, or attempt to phish. We may block splits or devices engaged in abuse.
Liability
Bharpai is provided as is. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from payments made or not made between users, incorrect UPI details entered by users, or downtime of UPI infrastructure we do not operate.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
